JOB DESCRIPTION

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's in IT, Computer or any related course
  • Experience of developing IT strategy within a business;
  • Office 365;
  • Good work Ethic;
  • Technologically competent;
  • Experience in managing teams and outsourced services;
  • Understanding of social purpose/values;
  • Prince 2 Foundation / Practitioner or equivalent certification in Project Management;
  • Varied IT Management experience;
  • Experience of managing and influencing 3rd party contracts;
  • Stakeholder management;
  • Experience of working in a high growth or scale up organisation;
  • A background in Scientific IT management or proven experience of working in complex scientific or tech environments;
  • Demonstrable successful delivery of projects that needed an IT solution – business projects;
  • ITiL Foundation or equivalent certification in IT service management;

 

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and Facilitate with Global policies/direction on best-practice asset management for regional IT hardware, software, and equipment;
  • Assist with the overall business technology planning, providing a current knowledge and future vision of technology and systems;
  • Analyse the business requirements of all departments to determine their technology needs today, and in the future;
  • Coach and mentor the team, in relation to methodologies, delivery processes and best practices in order to ensure adoption and consistency;
  • Ensuring the additional specialist requirements that accompany a modern lab environment are fulfilled;
  • Lead the process within the business to identify relevant, strategic technology projects;
  • Develop the IT team and drive performance management;
  • Working closely with the CIO to define company policies and ensure compliance;
  • Developing our existing approach to process improvement and project management across the organisation;
  • Acting as project lead on all internal IT projects;
  • Managing the technical IT Service Desk team and Infrastructure personnel;
  • Championing innovation and the utilisation of technology to grow our MM movement;
  • Deliver a best in class service to the business;
  • Manage the technology budget;
  • Provide leadership and management of the team – both internal and suppliers.
