JOB SUMMARY 

The Java Developer will be mainly responsible in the extension of the Master Data Management system (MDM). This position is heavily involved in programming and implementing solutions for the MDM as well as creating APIs from and to various systems.

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Maintain, expand, and improve the functionality and user experience of the MDM by developing in Java
• Together with Data Governance, the analysts and departments, translate the requirements into solutions within the MDM and be actively involved in the implementation
• Support the overall development of the MDM; this includes developing and advancing standards and best practices
• Creating, Updating and maintaining APIs

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

Primary:

• Tertiary qualification in Development, Data Science / Computer Science or comparable qualification
• 3 to 5 years of programming experience, especially in Java
• Sound knowledge in the area of MDM, APIs
• Knowledge of TIBCO EBX will be an advantage
• Must have an understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements

Skills:

• Strong programming skills in Java
• Good knowledge of (Rest)APIs
• Knowledge of data models
• Knowledge of MS SQL
• Having knowledge of Docker and atlassian products (Jira/Confluence) will be an advantage
• Version Control System (Git)
• High level of analytical thinking
