I. Position Summary:
A Procurement Assistant supports the Purchasing Department in ensuring that the company has a constant supply of materials, equipment and manpower services.
II. Duties and Responsibilities
1. Source out vendors of materials, equipment or supplies and manpower services primarily but not limited to the Data Center Facilities (DCF) line of business.
2. Conduct market research to identify pricing trends.
3. Conduct supplier evaluation and negotiation of best prices.
4. Create Bill of Materials (BOM)
5. Work with vendors to schedule shipping and delivery times and coordinate with warehouse personnel in receiving orders and proper storage and handling.
6. Maintain inventory levels and keep records.
7. Review and place orders, making sure that product and shipping information, cost and delivery dates are all correct before obtaining authorization to place an order.
8. Build, manage and develop relationships with key supplier/vendor relationships and assist in building effective partnerships.
9. Report defective or unacceptable new goods delivered by vendors to the Purchasing Managers / Asst. Purchasing Manager
10. Liaise with Accounts Payable Department to ensure accurate and timely payment of invoices/DRs, as necessary for the business with the supplier.
11. Maintain records of goods ordered and received and procurement files.
12. Perform other tasks and responsibilities that may be assigned by the immediate supervisor.
