JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for efficient and effective operations of the warehouse function to ensure the smooth transfer of goods from the warehouse to the selling area and the proper storage of goods to prevent spoilage/ damage and loss.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Ensures the efficient performance of warehouse functions such as receiving, storing, issuing, record-keeping, inventory-taking and return of damages on for pull-out items.
2. Determines and evaluates continuously the storage needs of the company and makes recommendations to maximize warehouse space.
3. Checks randomly all items stored in the warehouse to ensure that no misplacement, spoilage, breakage and pilferage occur within its premises.
4. Keeps track of merchandise transferred to and from the warehouse using prescribed forms.
5. Oversees the annual and periodic inventory-taking in the warehouse and ensures that inventory-taking guidelines are properly adhered to.
6. Oversees the disposal of discarded packing/wrapping materials according to prescribed procedures.
7. Oversees the maintenance of cleanliness and orderliness in the warehouse at all times.
8. Ensures that clearing functions are done before and after warehouse hours.
