The Insurance Billing Specialist is responsible for handling insurance receivables and ensuring that claims are processed accurately and timely. This person would also be at the forefront of addressing claims-related issues and concerns.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Manage assigned insurance receivables to achieve company-set expectations and KPIs
· Submit timely and accurate electronic and/or paper claims
· Research, troubleshoot, and rebill claim denials and rejections in a timely manner
· Communicate with insurance companies as needed to resolve claim issues
· Verify eligibility and benefits with various carriers
· Audit current claims for errors. Send corrected claims to providers for reprocessing
· Assist in special projects and perform other related duties as needed and assigned
· Train facilities on accurate and proper tracking of patient attendance
· Set up and maintain clients in Claims Management Software
QUALIFICATIONS
· High School Diploma
· At least 3 years of billing and coding experience
· Demonstrated pattern of growth or promotion in career history
· Prior experience working in the healthcare setting, with healthcare insurance
· Must be proficient in Excel and Google Docs and can create and use Pivot Tables and V-Lookup Functions
· Requires excellent communication, problem-solving, conflict resolution and organizational skills
· Must be able to adapt to changing demands of the position, customer needs, and the organization
· Experience in a multi-client environment
· Strong organization, oral and written communication skills
· Analytical skills with particular attention to detail
· Aptitude in data management, analytics, reporting preparation
· Ability to function in an autonomous environment—independent worker, self-directed
