JOB DESCRIPTION
The SRE Engineer works with R&D department with an understanding of the development process and hosting of web and mobile applications. They provide technical support in various degrees to create and support the application’s hosting requirements, CI/CD platforms, network, and security.

The position will provide and manage server instances, containers, networks, and security infrastructure.
OBJECTIVES OF THIS ROLE
- Building and setting up new development tools and infrastructure
- Understanding the needs of stakeholders and conveying this to developers
- Working on ways to automate and improve development and release processes
- Testing and examining code written by others and analyzing results
- Ensuring that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats
- Identifying technical problems and developing software updates and ‘fixes’
- Working with software developers and software engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended
- Planning out projects and being involved in project management decisions
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deploy updates and fixes
- Provide Level 2 technical support
- Build tools to reduce occurrences of errors and improve customer experience
- Develop software to integrate with internal back-end systems
- Perform root cause analysis for production errors
- Investigate and resolve technical issues
- Develop scripts to automate visualization
- Design procedures for system troubleshooting and maintenance
JOB QUALIFICATION
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or other highly technical, scientific discipline
- Experience as an SRE Engineer or similar software engineering role
- Proficient with git and git workflows
- Proficient in Linux operating systems and hosting applications using Apache and/or Nginx
- Proficient in network and routing
- Ability to author and test shell scripts to automate process and system activities
- Experience with cloud computing technologies like AWS and GCP as well as
- infrastructure management frameworks such as Terraform
- Experience with configuration management frameworks like Puppet, Ansible and Chef
- Experience with continuous integration solutions like Jenkins, TeamCity, Gitlab CI
- Experience with monitoring systems
- Working knowledge of database systems (e.g.: MySQL, Percona, and similar)
- Problem-solving attitude
- Collaborative team spirit
- Must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills
- Must possess solid time task prioritization skills
- Must have strong deductive logic, reasoning, analytical skills, troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work with minimum supervision
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Hashicorp stack (Terraform, Consul, etc.)
- CI/CD experience
- Experience developing engineering applications for a large corporation
- Previous success in technical engineering
- Coding experience beyond simple scripts
- Related certifications (e.g.: AWS, Linux, etc.)
- Fintech experience
