As the Staff Accountant, you need to support the Controller and the general accounting functions of the department. You will also serve as the account receivable clerk, support payroll, and take on any other needed functions during this phase of growth.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Ensure accurate and timely accounting, and support controller in financial reporting, analysis, and forecasting
· Select general ledger functions including some month-end accruals and account reconciliations
· Function as accounts receivable clerk; process and batch of account receivable receipts, reconcile sales, sales tax, and payments
· Collect and process accounts receivable payments from field technicians
· Monitor and collect unpaid accounts receivable balances and process collections, as necessary
· Perform and manage banking functions including deposits, inter-bank transfers for accounts receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations
· Support payroll processing, file local taxes, and other department tasks as needed
· Enter invoices for payment, sort, and mail checks, digitize and file payables and cut checks as needed
· Prepare financial statements
· Contact AP vendors for missing/incomplete invoices
· Obtain W-9s for all vendors and prepare year-end 1099s and other tax regulatory filings as needed
· Assist with researching invoice discrepancies
· Work with company accountant to file year-end taxes
QUALIFICATIONS
· High school diploma or equivalent required; certificate or degree in Accounting preferred
· At least five years of accounting/bookkeeping experience
· Strong understanding of basic accounting principles/processes and demonstrated project management skills
· Fanatical about attention to detail, accuracy, and timeliness
· Strong skills using accounting software including QuickBooks Enterprise, Microsoft Office, and various ERP systems
· Passionate about internal and external customer service, teamwork, and continuous improvement
· Experience in a multi-client environment
· Strong computer aptitude, which includes expertise with Microsoft 365 applications
· Strong organization, oral and written communication skills
· Analytical skills with particular attention to detail
· Aptitude in data management, analytics, reporting preparation
