JOB DESCRIPTION

You need to lead the accurate and timely dissemination of information, primarily financial in nature, about all company activities to assist the executive and management teams in making educated decisions for the company. Reports directly to the President/CEO and interacts with all levels of the organization. This role is critical in managing the day-to-day accounting functions to deliver financial and management reports and achieve timely and accurate reporting.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

·       Oversee the activities of the accounting department that provides accurate and timely dissemination of financial information, including but not limited to, internal financial statements, annual compliance reporting, budgeting, strategic planning, tax planning, risk management, cash flow planning, and financial scenario development

·       Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures, and department goals

·       Establish and maintain systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, safeguard assets and assure accurate and timely recording of all transactions

·       Assure financial plans are consistent with organizational goals

·       Provide financial analysis tools to evaluate company ventures or special projects, capital investments, programs, pricing, capital expenditures, contract negotiations, and product costing when necessary

·       Oversee the accurate and timely processing or reporting of payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, cash control, fixed assets records, inventory, debt management, and all compliance reporting

·       Be responsible for managing and maintaining employee benefit programs

·       Coordinate and/or participate in the flow of information to outside sources for annual audit and external financial reporting and tax returns, as well as all compliance reporting with local, state, and federal reporting agencies

·       Oversee and/or participate in risk management processes such as insurance analysis, procurement, and safety

·       Respond to CEO/President and board with accurate and timely information to facilitate their financial needs

·       Participate in a wide variety of special projects and teams to compile a variety of financial reporting

·       Communicate with staff, management, peers, clients, and others in a courteous and professional manner

·       Conform and abide by all policies, work procedures, instructions, regulations, and laws.

·       Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

·       BS or BA in accounting or business administration required

·       CPA and/or CMA certification preferred

·       Equivalent degree with experience will be considered for appropriateness

·       Minimum 5 years of increasingly responsible, hands-on accounting managerial experience required

·       Mastery of generally accepted accounting principles, financial statement presentation, financial analysis, and internal controls

·       Strong technical and financial management capacity including expertise in managing the general ledger, budgeting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, state and federal taxes, third-party reporting, banking, and lending requirements

·       Strong ability to facilitate change in many capacities including accounting software implementation and broader ERP system integrations, process improvement, organizational growth, and geographical expansion

·       Ability to communicate effectively with management, employees, customers, vendors, and compliance authorities fostering consensus and cooperation

·       Ability to provide fair-minded and competent financial, personal, and managerial leadership

·       Proven strong analytical/problem solving, judgment, time management, critical thinking, and organizational skills

·       Ethical conduct and personal effectiveness/credibility

·       Experience in a multi-client environment

·       Strong computer aptitude, which includes expertise with Microsoft 365 applications

·       Aptitude in data management, analytics, reporting preparation

·       Ability to function in an autonomous environment—independent worker, self-directed
