JOB DESCRIPTION

This position is responsible for preparing federal and state income tax returns for a portfolio of small business clients in the U.S. This includes preparing all tax workpapers and supporting documentation. This position is also responsible for assisting our accounting department with maintaining accounting system records, preparing journal entries, analyzing financial reports, and documenting activities through reconciliations and workpapers. To be successful in this role you should have the ability to manage multiple, competing priorities stemming from client needs and requests while maintaining top quality and customer service standards.

JOB QUALIFICATION

SCHEDULE: 8 AM – 5 PM Pacific Standard Time, follows Philippine Holidays

POSITION TYPE: Full Time

WORK ARRANGEMENT: Remote

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

·       Prepare U.S. corporate income tax returns and workpapers

·       Prepare U.S. individual income tax returns

·       Prepare U.S. State income tax returns including multi-state tax returns

·       Prepare personal property tax returns

·       Maintain client fixed assets including calculation of book and tax depreciation

·       Assist the accounting team with bank, credit card and payroll account reconciliations, as well as other accounting related functions as requested by clients

·       Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements with supporting reconciliations

·       Preparation of 1099s

·       Communicate open items or anomalies to manager and follow-up to ensure items are fully resolved

·       Support self-service customers with tax and accounting questions

·       Respond to tax notices

·       Contribute to department and team projects

·       Perform other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS

·       Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field preferred

·       3-5 years of U.S. individual and business income tax preparation, including C Corporation returns

·       At least 3 years of full cycle accounting experience

·       Experience working with book/tax differences

·       Experience working in a multi-client environment

·       Strong computer aptitude, which includes expertise with Microsoft Excel and Word as well as experience with QuickBooks Online, and professional tax software (experience with Prosystem Fx or CCH Axcess a plus)

·       Strong organization, oral and written communication skills

·       Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and deadlines

·       Analytical skills with particular attention to detail

·       Ability to work in an autonomous environment where you can be a self-directed, independent worker
