JOB DESCRIPTION

This role will suit a tester who is energised by reviewing detail and testing financial software against requirements.

 

It requires strong attention to detail, methodical testing discipline and strength in documenting faults/ bugs. You will be required to work with the design, technical and development teams to ensure faults/ bugs get fixed, re-tested and signed off.

 

The role will be part of a forward-thinking and technology focused team that seeks to leverage and develop the latest and greatest in the field of testing practices to deliver our products to the marketplace.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborates with design team to understand requirements and how they might translate into testing requirements

• Works with the broader team to agree testing scope and approach

• Creates high quality acceptance tests based on acceptance criteria to ensure software functions as per design, technical and functional requirements

• Undertake testing of software against the design, technical and functional requirements – throughout the development process, as well as final testing prior to release for User Acceptance Testing

• Co-ordinates the testing with other members of the QA and software development team

• Ensures all tests are documented and test issues are analysed with feedback provided to developers & task creators, re-tests as required and approves once acceptance criteria are met

• Contributes to issues resolution, including providing feedback and recommendations for product or design changes, or to acceptance criteria

• Continually looks to improve the QA processes and for opportunities to improve efficiency and quality

 

Secondary

• Drive to learn modern testing or Agile methodology-based testing practices.

• Builds the team’s technical expertise/capabilities/skills through the provision of regular feedback, knowledge sharing, and coaching.

• Contributes to internal quality control standards and the maintenance of reliability programs

• High learning adaptability, demonstrating understanding of the implications of technical issues on business requirements and / or operations. Keeps abreast of the latest technologies and identifies areas for continuous improvement.

• Draws on internal and external practices to establish best testing practices within the team and ensures that it is shared and understood.

• Helps identify areas where process improvements can be made and develops practical recommendations.

• Looks to identification user experience issues and suggests solutions where applicable

JOB QUALIFICATION

Knowledge and Experience:

• A Bachelor's/College Degree would be beneficial and experience in a technology related discipline, such as IT or Engineering or equivalent experience is required

• Experience on creating non-functional test scenarios from non-functional requirements and/or User Stories

• Experience on creating and implementing strategic roadmap for non-functional testing; design standards, tools, architecture

• Working knowledge of load balancing, single/multi tenancy, microservices, cloud, and multi-tier web application architectures

• Knowledge and experience on non-functional testing categories such as, but not limited to: stress, load, endurance, volume, resiliency, disaster recovery and scalability testing.

• Knowledge and experience on tools such as Load Runner, Visual Studio Enterprise Web Load and Performance Testing, Git, TeamCity, Fiddler, Dynatrace, SQL Server Profiler, Oracle SQL Developer or other profiling and performance tools

• Experience on writing T-SQL, Shell scripts, Pro* C and/or C

• Experience working on both Linux and Windows Operating Systems

• Experience working with Agile Scrum teams, including those distributed geographically

• Familiarity with change management systems and processes

• Knowledge on principles of continuous integration and the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).

• Knowledge on continuous delivery concepts.
