THE ROLE
As a Finance Controller, you are expected to manage accounts receivables and accounts payables; you are also responsible for all bank reconciliations, preparation, and completion of fiscal year budget planning.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
> Work with ownership, leadership team, outsourced CFO, and CPA to oversee the company’s accounting functions
> Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable
> Manage accounting close monthly
> Reconcile all bank accounts monthly
> Manage accounting functions daily including invoicing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, treasury management, procurement, and general ledger accounting
> Assist with preparation and completion of the fiscal year budgeting process, evaluates business unit performance against budget, and develop forecasts to provide an accurate projection of financial performance
> Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with US GAAP
> Supervise the preparation of the monthly management financial reporting package, including variance and cash flow analysis
> Report operational data to the leadership team
> Create, review and revise policies and procedures to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting group
> Assist outsourced CPA with the preparation of regulatory filings
> Assist the leadership team with short and long-range accounting department goals and objectives
> Inspect operating expenses identifying potential areas for saving and improving operational cost-efficiency
QUALIFICATIONS
> Bachelors’ degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related studies
> 5+ years of experience working as a Controller, or similar role, of a United States company of at least $2M U.S. annual revenue
> Experience with Centerbase software is preferred, but not required
> Strong with QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, and Google Sheets
> Experience in a multi-client environment
> Strong organization, oral and written communication skills
> Analytical skills with particular attention to detail
> Aptitude in data management, analytics, reporting preparation
> Ability to function in an autonomous environment—independent worker, self-directed
