The Accounting Manager is responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. The Accounting Manager supervises staff accountants and is responsible for managing the team to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities which include financial reporting, analysis of accounts, taxes, year-end audit reports preparation, and budget planning activities. The Accounting Manager will report directly to the Group Finance Manager which requires strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills both written and verbal.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
? Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
? Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close.
? Ensure the timely reporting and analysis of all monthly financial reports.
? Assist the Group Finance Manager in the daily banking requirements.
? Ensure timely and accurate filing of all Government-Mandated Taxes
? Ensure the accurate and timely processing of Accounts Payables.
? ·Ensure correctness of Subsidiary Ledger per Business Units for Assets and Liabilities.
? ·Ensure the monthly and quarterly Bank Compliance activities and reconciliations are performed in a timely and accurate manner.
? Lead and support budget and forecasting activities.
? Collaborates with the other department managers to support overall department goals and objectives.
? Monitors and analyzes department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
? Advises staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions.
? Work with the Group Finance Manager to ensure a clean and timely year-end audit.
? Supervise the general ledger group to ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met.
? Assist in the development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department.
? Provide training to new and existing staff as needed.
? Handle personnel issues relating to staff conflicts, absenteeism, performance issues, etc.
? Work with each direct report to establish goals and objectives for each year and monitor and advise on the progress to enhance the professional development of staff.
? Support Group Finance Manager with special projects and workflow process improvements of the department.

QUALIFICATIONS
? Must be Bachelor’s/College Degree holder in Accountancy and Board Passer CPA
? Minimum of three (3) years working experience as Accounting Manager in Wholesale Trading and Distribution, FMCG, or Manufacturing Industry preferably handling General Accounting and Taxes. SKILLS AND QUALITIES
? Excellent communication and presentation skills for both written and verbal
? Strong interpersonal, supervisory, and customer service skills are required.
? Ability to multitask, work under pressure and meet deadlines required.
? Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
? Knowledge of using Accounting Software such as NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP is an advantage
