Department Objective
To build business solutions utilising sound software engineering methods and techniques with the objective of providing the business with a product which gives Firstmac a competitive edge over its competitors.
Position Purpose
The Senior Test Analyst - Automation will be responsible for developing and maintaining Firstmac’s automation test suite. As a member of the existing team, this person will play a critical role in ensuring the delivery of quality software products, and part of their responsibilities will be extending an existing automation framework alongside the existing automation engineer. The candidate will be working in a fast paced frequent delivery focused environment and should be open to learning new technology and facing new challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain Firstmac’s automation test suite within the existing framework
- Collaborate with developers and test team to implement changes to the test suite
- Identify gaps in the Automation Test Suite, including Unit/Integration/UI and implement improvements to increase Test Coverage and Quality standards
- Support the test team with automation practices
- Execution of automated regression tests and proactively seek to resolve blockages
- Collaborate with developers to ensure the test environment is stable, reliable and ready for weekly software releases
- Ensure that frequent production deployments are tested effectively and efficiently by driving an automation-led testing approach
- Monitor your JIRA test queue and ensure tasks are delivered on time
- Report frequently to the Test Lead on the status of testing
- Any other duties as and when required – this will include manual testing
JOB QUALIFICATION
Job Qualification
The ideal candidate will have the following skillset:
Essential -
- 3+ years’ experience in functional software test automation
- Knowledge of good automation practices
- Experience in writing Automated Test in a Javascript/Node.js/Angular Environment
- Experience with CI (Jenkins specifically)
- API Testing knowledge, REST and SOAP
- Version Control knowledge (git)
- Experience working in an Agile Environment
Desirable -
- Knowledge of Cypress.io / Protractor
- Datawarehousing and Testing experience
- API testing
- Agile/SCRUM/Kanban
