Our origin is from a Japanese steel company (Kawasaki Steel Corp.), which was established in 1950. Kawasaki Steel built a sintering plant for steel making works (Philippine Sinter Corporation: PSC) in northern Mindanao in 1977. This is the first overseas engineering project of Kawasaki Steel in which it conducted construction management, including planning, design, construction and operation. Since then, it has accumulated more construction and civil engineering technologies, and its construction orders in the Philippines have increased also.
In 1989, Riofil Corporation was established to participate in the construction projects of the private sector in the Philippines. Kawasaki Steel and Riofil have cooperated in implementing various construction projects throughout the Philippines.
In 1991, Kawasaki Steel developed the first large-scale industrial park in the country, Laguna Techno Park (LTI) and RIOFIL built several factories for the locators in the said industrial park.
In 2003, the JFE Group was established and the construction business was transferred from Kawasaki Steel to JFE Civil Engineering & Construction Corp. (JFE Civil).
The JFE Group expanded their steel business and engineering businesses and together with them, RIOFIL has been engaged in Building Construction, Marine Works and Civil Engineering Works.
“RIO” comes from “Kawasaki Steel Corp.” Japanese “KAWA” and Spanish “RIO” mean the same “RIVER”.
“FIL” is for Filipinas, or Philippines.
The curve-shaped letter R” connotes a flowing river. This signifies constant pursuit of new opportunities, actively seeking to make new contacts and to strengthen communication with its customers.
If you enjoy working for a diverse work force, an organization that encourages continuous learning, explore new locations and take on challenging work, then this is the opportunity to do what you like. Our jobs bring meaningful experience to our people who help build and improve our nation.
