A global transport and logistics company that provides and manages supply chain solutions is looking for a Database Administrator.

Job Responsibilities:

• Build database systems of high availability and quality depending on application design
• Design and implement database in accordance to end users information
• Define, manage and optimize database access (user/security maintenance)
• Implement backup configuration standards
• Establish a disaster recovery protocol
• Minimize database downtime and manage parameters to provide fast query responses
• Determine, enforce and document database policies, procedures and standards
• Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy and integrity
• Monitor database performance, implement changes and apply new patches and versions when required
• Provide end-to-end technical support and problem resolution

Qualifications/Skills:

• Strong command of administration and support of MSSQL, Oracle and any of open source databases (MongoDB, PostgreSQL or MySQL) is an added advantage
• Advanced knowledge of database security, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring standards
• PowerShell and Unix shell scripting skills is an advantage
• Having experience with service management tools (Cherwell or Remedy etc.)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Impeccable attention to detail
• Analytical mindset and good problem-solving skills
• Highly organized and responsible
• Capable of working under pressure
• Up to date with trends and developments in database administration

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field
• 3 + years of experience in database administration and IT Support
• Experience with Linux and Windows Server environments
• Extensive experience with database technologies MS SQL, Oracle and Open source databases (MongoDB or PostgreSQL or MySQL) along with certification is a plus
• Experience with cloud services and DevOps tools is a plus
