Our History
CVM PAWNSHOP AND MONEY CHANGER CORP.
The Manlapaz family, with its vision to diversify and expand in the lending industry, has organized a company whereby the purpose is to lend money to borrowers in a convenient, safe, and fast manner. The dream of building this company has come into reality with the birth of CVM Pawnshop and Money Changer Corporation.
But the CVMPMCC roots run deeper than that. In the 70’s, when CVMPMCC founders, Mrs. Carmelita Vicencio Manlapaz and her husband, Mr. Warlito Palad Manlapaz were just starting their business venture of selling seafood products, she would frequent a small neighborhood pawnshop to pawn some of their jewelry in exchange for cash to fund their operations. She quickly realized how the simple act of being granted quick access to financial resources contributed greatly to the achievement of her dream.
Mrs. Manlapaz was a customer first and eventually became a pawnshop owner. With this, she is well-attuned to the needs of people with dreams, and vowed to render the same kind of service to them, the same valuable service that helped her attain her dream of being a successful business owner.
In 2004, she got her chance. She put up CVM Pawnshop and Money Changer Corp. with the goal of helping people achieve their dreams.
They started their operations on January 16, 2005 with the opening of its first branch at Rosario, Pasig City. A few days later, another branch was inaugurated at the New Taytay Public Market where the principal office of the corporation was located.
Today, with 100+ branches and on-line pawning, CVM Pawnshop and Money Changer Corp. is known for being a top player in the industry in terms of accepting gadgets as collateral while delivering its service ala “Masarap Kausap”.
