JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Description

The Senior Linux Systems Administrator will be responsible for designing, building and deploying secure Linux systems and automating repetitive tasks using Ansible, Python or suitable utilities and leveraging other data center automation technologies. The sysadmin will also be responsible for ensuring Linux system vulnerabilities are addressed promptly and work to remedy legacy vulnerability and configuration issues.

? Performance tuning and kernel configuration

? Perform security audits of internal systems where necessary to ensure compliance with corporate security standards.

Minimum Qualifications

? Deep experience in systems admin in a Linux enterprise environment

? Excellent scripting skills (Python, Perl, Bash/Shell).

? Experience in Unix enterprise environment Linux

? Experience of configuring Kickstart for unattended Operating System installation and configuration.

? Experience of configuring disk-based technologies: RAID, LVM and storage area networks (SAN)

? Hands-on experience of IT Automation and configuration management tools and concepts.

? Familiarity with enterprise backup and configuration management tools and principles.

? Ability to perform forensic analysis on systems in case of any type of security breach ? Expert knowledge of networking, storage (EMC), security, virtualization (VMWare), clustering and high availability concepts.

? Experience working with containerization technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes.

? Work effectively with team of System Administrators/Engineers to maintain uptime, consistency, scalability and performance while meeting business needs.

? Work effectively with System Administrators/Engineers, DBA’s, Programmers, Project Managers, Business Representatives, Vendors and/or Analysts to complete tasks in timely manner.

? Working knowledge of VMware virtualization (vSphere, vRealize Automation), VMware certifications a plus

? Solid understanding network technologies like switching, routing, DNS, VXLAN, SDN, etc.

? Working with Cloud-type technologies and companies such as AWS and Azure

? Oracle WebLogic Server and Oracle Coherence is a distinct advantage

? RHCSA (Red Hat Certified System Administrator)

? LFCS (Linux Foundation Certified System Administrator)

? UNIX certifications, such as HP-UX, AIX, SUN Solaris are an added advantage

? ITIL foundation certified

? Oracle Linux OCA & OCP is a plus

Minimum Qualifications

  • Strong analytical and planning skills;
  • Good communication and presentation skills;
  • Excellent problem-solving skills;
