Duties & Responsibilities

  • Overseeing and managing the estimating department and creating complete estimates for large and complex projects
  • Identifying and reviewing material and labor requirements in order to determine which is more cost-effective in producing components or purchasing components
  • Estimating the time, materials, or equipment that are required to complete a job or project
  • Creating, analyzing, and maintaining correct and accurate quantities and thorough take-offs from plans
  • Showing creativity and resourcefulness in order to gain the best pricing from subcontractors
  • Maintaining and updating correct and accurate records of tenders
  • Assists with maintaining the estimating cost data base to ensure costs are up to date.
  • Studies specifications to assist the operations team in planning procedures for construction on basis of starting and completion times and staffing requirements for each phase of construction.
  • Researches construction documents and analyzes specifications to determine estimated costs.
  • Assures that self-performed estimates comply with the requirements of the overall construction contract with the Owner.
  • Understands how to create proper bid packages and works with the design team on the information required in each package to assure complete bids and giving the field team the right information needed to start construction or maintain the project schedule.

JOB QUALIFICATION

Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent field experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) years commercial construction experience with a minimum of three (3) years of estimating experience.
  • Advanced project estimator skills that include performing engineering calculations, being conversant in engineering nomenclature to effectively communicate with Application Engineers, Product Managers, Project Managers, Engineering and vendors
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to read, understand and organize construction plans and specifications
  • Strong organizational and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal structure while exercising great judgment
  • Strong Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work well under pressure to meet established deadlines
  • Amenable to work in Iloilo
