JOB DESCRIPTION

The Scope

This role requires the individual to be involved in the development, production, and application of bioprocessing tools, such as Tide Motion bioreactors for adherent cell culture. The application support takes on many forms and shapes, ranging from technical support with the handled bioprocessing equipment to addressing application questions across a wide range of industry (vaccine, cell therapy, etc.). The role also involves engagement in minimal marketing activities such as organizing conference participation and distributor seminar.

Reports to: CEO

Responsibilities (Include, But Are Not Limited To)

  • Perform product test work to demonstrate how to get the best out of Aster products. Generate the necessary documents for internal and customer use.
  • Works to troubleshoot application specific inquiries – focus on Tide Motion Bioreactors (adherent cell culture)
  • Write and execute product application plans such as item list, manuals, and other related documents.
  • Educate, train, and support sales and customers with product and application information
  • Conduct application consultations with customer in the most appropriate use of our products and propose solutions. Activities include conducting lab trials and developing applications and processes using Aster products in customer’s bioprocesses
  • Work independently and efficiently
  • Communicate effectively with internal staff members and provide updates on the progress of the project
  • Collaborate with engineers and development team to keep track of experimental testing status and obtain test results in a timely manner
  • Build and lead a team of marketing specialists and develop expertise by regular exchange of experiences, applications, and technology training
  • Support product and service sales in application, marketing content, and quotations
  • Plan and execute conference participation and exhibition

JOB QUALIFICATION

Physical/Mental Requirements/Work Environment

 

  • Good understanding of Biotechnology
  • Ability to read and interpret publications and protocols
  • Ability to maintain and develop relationships with new and existing sales and customer personnel (scientists, researchers, etc.)
  • Ability to provide product application expertise at point of sale for bioprocess applications
  • Ability to author or review standard operating procedures, and other related product documents such as manuals.
  • Ability to solve problems in straightforward situations; analyzes possible solutions using technical experience and judgment and precedents.
  • Ability to supervise team members and provide formal guidance.
  • Ability to lift <30kg items due to attendance to different trade shows or booth exhibitions.
    • At least 2-5 years related product application specialist experience including handling of bioreactors for adherent culture.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology/Biology, Bioengineering or other related life science field.
    • In depth knowledge of unit operations and practices relevant to biotech customers and process (USP + DSP).
    • Ability to give presentations at webinars, events, etc.
    • High technical credibility.
    • Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude.
    • Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies.
    • Good presentation skills.
    • A friendly and pleasant disposition.
    • Willing to travel (>50%).
    Minimum Requirements
    • PhD graduate in Biotechnology or related science and 2-5 Years product application experience.
    • Bioprocess training experiences.
