JOB DESCRIPTION

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervises the process of sourcing and purchasing of goods essential for business operations.
  • Leads in Research on potential vendors and compares/evaluates offers from suppliers including Negotiation of Contract Terms of Agreement and Pricing
  • Responsible for the formulation of merchandising strategies and attainment of sales/margin goals at the least inventory
  • Ensure maximize sales potential and profit through manipulating product mix, pricing, margins, coloring, sizing, and delivery phasing considering historical performance, current brand direction and trends in the market
  • Works with design team to develop product design, concept, and packaging
  • Communicate and negotiate with suppliers regarding samples, orders, FOB prices, MOQs and brand building support among others
  • Continuously coordinates with suppliers, freight forwarders, regarding shipping Schedule and necessary documents
  • Oversees submission and receipt of pertinent Import Documents
  • Creates and maintains good relationships with key suppliers to ensure merchandise is of high quality and is delivered on time.
  • Prepare order worksheet (new items / re-order / corporate order) and coordinate with sales agents with regards to potential
  • Monitor sell through of products and proactively take action to ensure maximum sales and profit is achieved
  • Monitor inventory levels and aging and take action to bring them to profitable levels
  • Ensures accurate entry of order details (i.e. vendors, quantities, prices) into internal databases (Monitoring GSheet; ERP) including maintenance of updated records of purchased products, delivery information, and invoices.
  • Certifies and ensures accuracy of reports on purchases, including cost analyses & monitoring of stock levels.
  • Coordinates with Warehouse & Logistics Team to ensure proper storage of purchased items.
  • Support the Division Head in setting directions through proactive feedback on effectiveness of previous and current merchandise strategies as well as identification of focus, growth and exit areas
  • Build on product knowledge and category expertise through familiarization with competitor and complement brands’ product ranges, pricing and positioning.
  • Periodically visit the warehouse to check on defective products and recommends appropriate action to be taken to Division Head
  • Other tasks as assigned

JOB QUALIFICATION

Qualifications:

  • A graduate of any business-related course
  • Having at least 3 years of relevant supervisory experience in Merchandising and Import Purchasing in consumer goods industry
  • Must be well-versed in Importation documents (including Forwarding to Releasing Process)
  • Analytical, creative and good in Math
  • Has excellent negotiation skills
  • Has adequate knowledge on estimating, planning, inventory management, cost and budgetary preparation, supervision and management, and best practices in purchasing.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (vlook-up, pivot tables, sum-if, etc.) and familiarity with software applications including google docs and ERP
  • Excellent organizational, planning, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Keen attention to details
  • Excellent oral and written English communication and presentation skills.
  • Has knowledge in budget, financial statements, and trend forecasting
  • With skills in Merchandise Management
  • Amenable to work beyond working hours
  • Amenable to travel locally and internationally when the need arises
  • Willing to work in Parañaque/Merville Pasay area
