JOB DESCRIPTION

 

  1. Greeting and Seating Guests: Welcome guests as they arrive, escort them to their tables, and provide menus. Assist in finding suitable seating arrangements and ensure guests' comfort.

  2. Taking Orders: Engage with customers to understand their preferences, answer questions about the menu, and provide recommendations. Accurately record food and beverage orders, noting any special dietary requests or allergies.

  3. Serving Food and Beverages: Deliver orders promptly and efficiently to the correct table, ensuring accuracy and presentation standards are maintained. Serve food and beverages, including alcoholic beverages, in a courteous and professional manner.

  4. Providing Product Knowledge: Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the menu items, including ingredients, preparation methods, and any specials or promotions. Offer detailed explanations and suggestions to enhance the dining experience.

  5. Monitoring Table Needs: Continuously observe and anticipate guests' needs throughout their dining experience. Ensure tables are properly set, promptly clear used dishes, refill beverages, and provide additional items as requested.

  6. Handling Payment Transactions: Present bills to customers, accurately process payments, and provide change or receipts. Maintain cash handling procedures and adhere to any POS (Point of Sale) system protocols.

  7. Collaborating with the Team: Coordinate with kitchen staff, bartenders, and other team members to ensure smooth service flow and timely delivery of orders. Communicate guest feedback, special requests, and any concerns to the appropriate staff members.

  8. Maintaining Cleanliness: Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining areas, including tables, chairs, and condiment stations. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and proper sanitation procedures.

  9. Resolving Guest Issues: Respond promptly and tactfully to guest inquiries, concerns, or complaints. Attempt to resolve issues to the guest's satisfaction or involve a supervisor or manager when necessary.

  10. Upselling and Promoting: Suggest additional menu items, desserts, or beverages to enhance the guest experience and increase sales. Proactively inform guests about ongoing promotions or loyalty programs.

JOB QUALIFICATION

 

  • Previous experience as a food server or in the food service industry is preferred but not always required.
  • Strong customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with guests and team members.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and calculating bills.
  • Knowledge of food and beverage safety regulations.
  • Flexibility to work in shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift/move trays or equipment as necessary.
